there is nothing special about the schema elements to XSLT, you match
them just as for any other element.
<xs:schema id="NewDataSet" xmlns=""
xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
That's the element schema in namespace http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema
<xsl:value-of select="xs:schema/@id"/>
and that would select the id of that attribute if xs: in the stylesheet
is mapped to http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema
It looks like you have not declared the xs: prefix at all in the
stylesheet so you should get an XPath parse error about the undeclared
prefix.
just add xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" to your stylesheet
(eg onto xsl:stylesheet element)
It isn't necessary to use the same xs: prefix as used in teh source
file, you just need to make sure the namespace is declared with some
prefix and use that in xpath expressions.
