how can i set $iTimeZoneOffset to another variable say iCurrentOffset
You can't, variables as immutable in XSLT. Instead, you could e.g. set a
variable $_iTimeZoneOffset based on the test to either $iTimeZoneOffset or
$iCurrentOffset.
