I have three questions about footnotes from an XSL FO persective:
1. The first is off-topic to XSL, but I expect to find the
knowledge among you. If a footnote number appears at the end
of a sentence, should it be before or after the period? I've
seen both. Is it a matter of culture? Do you prefer this?
...and a footnote.^1 Some more text...
Or this?
...and a footnote^1. Some more text...
What about footnote numbers before/after comma or colon? Or
do you always put footnotes numbers at the end of the sentence?
Hart's Rules say the footnote reference goes after the punctuation. But
not everyone follows Hart's Rules.
