Yes that's the standard idiom for generating elements in no namespace.
Rather than
<xsl:for-each select="node()">
<xsl:call-template name="recurseCopy"/>
</xsl:for-each>
I'd probably do
<xsl:apply-templates mode="recurseCopy"/>
and apply the template directly rather than going via a nameed template,
just changing
<xsl:template name="recurseCopy">
to
<xsl:template match="Point|Attribute" mode="recurseCopy">
...
but that's more a matter of personal style preference tham anything
else.
