Re: Netscape7.1 bug or bad code?

2003-07-02 04:05:15

  i still wonder...
  "the Script is ignored(sampleI)" is
  Netscape 7.1 features or bug?

I don't think you have said whether you are generating xhtml or html.
IE knows nothing about XHTML and if you serve th efiles with an xml mime
type you'll just see a "folding tree view" of your source.

mozilla and netscape though do have xhtml support. the file will be
parsed differently depending on whether it is served as xml or html.
(it isthe mime type that is important not the syntax actually used in
the file)

If the file is read as html then <script> is a CDATA element and
< is not special and can be entered as <

If the file is read as xml xhtml then a script element is a normal
element and an < in the script must be entered as &lt; or in a CDATA
section.
