I am trying to put together a test that finds the following
<col> sequence 'red' 'green' 'yellow' from the following
data. I am guessing that the preceding sibling axis is the way?
Try day[col="red" and following-sibling::day[1]/col="green"
and following-sibling::day[2]/col="yellow"]
