Depends on the capacity of the hard disk

Such is progress. In the 1970s I was using operating systems with no
such limitations.

I suspect the poster was interested in how large an XML file could be
processed using XSLT, in which case it depends more on the amount of
memory available. But it's still "as long as a piece of string".
