Use the string-join() function to concatenate all the strings 
in a sequence, with an optional separator.


Thanks for that.

To be honest I hadn't even looked in the Xquery 1.0 and Xpath 2.0
Functions and Operators spec, only the xslt and xpath 2.0 specs.  Roll
on the next reference book...
