If I understand what you're doing correctly, the key-based (Muenchian)
method would look something like:

You understood totally correctly, I was able to implement it directly into
my solution, and it works like a charm. I can understand what is done when I
look at it, but for producing such myself... Well, I think this will have to
double as a reference as well as a working solution.
