If I understand it correctly it is not possible if you must conform to XSLT
1.0 only.
Many implementations (such as libxslt) support the xsl:document element that
was introduced in XSLT 1.1 (that has been cancelled).
One alternative is to use the document element from exslt if that is
available for you.
