You just need <xsl:if test="value1 = value2/option"> The "=" operator in XPath compares all the nodes on the left against all the nodes on the right and returns true if any pair matches. The predicate N[*] means N[boolean(child::*)] and selects every N that has at least one child element. Michael Kay
