RE: xsl beginner - sum () dont work

2004-06-09 06:58:41
You can't use instructions like <xsl:value-of> at the top level of a
stylesheet: they need to be part of a template. Try:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?>
<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3c.org/1999/XSL/Transform";>

<xsl:template match="/">
  <xsl:value-of select="sum(/musik/track/time)" />
</xsl:template>

</xsl:stylesheet>

P.S. You might not understand the error message, but it's still worth
quoting it rather than just saying "it doesn't work". There are people on
this list who do understand the error messages and find them useful when
looking for an error in a stylesheet.
