Document() function, xlink and XBRL

I'm attempting to process xbrl documents. Since they
depend heavily upon xlink, I'm starting with the
document() function.
 
I'm just wondering if anyone else has tried to process
xbrl documents or might have any helpful suggestions
for me as I get going on this project.
