You basically trick the XSLT processor to output text that looks like
xml without recognizing its xml.
You may or may not do that, depending on whether the processor supports
disable-output-escaping which is an optional (and deprecated in XSLT2
draft) feature. Usually a processor outputting directly to an in memory
DOM of some sort will not support this.
