all three forms you used are equivalent and put charater 160 in the result.
That caracter will be output in an html compatible way by the system
when using the html output method. Most systems will outut that as 
& n b s p ;
but other things are possible, it shouldn't matter as whether or not an
entity reference is used, the character should still work in the
browser.
