Re: Error in XPath expression with IE

2005-03-15 11:08:14
Right, i forgot about

xmlDoc.setProperty("SelectionLanguage", "XPath");

That solves everithing. Oh well, i just have the chance to write a
piece of scrap anyhow...

Oh, I'm using XPath allright,

xmlDoc.selectNodes("(//Menu)["+(pos)+"]/MenuTitulo")[0];

the [0] is not part of XPath, it's the array selectNodes returns.
Offcourse i can use selectSingleNode...

Thanks a lot for your help.

  And i still have a problem, it seems some msxml uses a XPath 0 based
  and some others 1 based. When pos=1 in some i get 2 values instead of
  1!!!

No Xpath is always 1-based.

Msxml has two selection languages Xpath, and the selection language from
IE5 (which is the default in msxml2 and mmsxml3) to make it use xpath
you need to set a property first. see the docs (I don't remember the
details)

   parent+"MenuTitulo")[0];
If you have [0] and it works then you are not using Xpath.
