Nope, you?ve placed them in a result tree fragment.  Don?t put them in a
variable; just use elements in the stylesheet itself, and use the
document() function to get at them.  See <URL:
http://crism.maden.org/consulting/pub/xsl/iso8601.xsl > for an example
that formats dates in English; replacing the month names should be pretty
straightforward.  (If you were to make that language-sensitive and send it
back, that would also be awesome. (-: )
