Well it certainly occurs to the experienced XSLTer to ask, why can't you
use the XPath starts-with() function?
It's true that sometimes you need to push the boundaries of XSLT 1.0
(echoes of another thread) to do tokenization, etc., but I'm not sure this
is one of them. (I concede that I haven't really looked that hard here.)
