I've just developed a set of stylesheets that are designed to support
unit testing of XSLT stylesheets. You embed tests in the stylesheet
and can run a script (or configure your editing environment) to
extract and run them and create an HTML report on the result. Further

Does this require XSLT 2 or does it work with XSLT 1 as well?
It requires XSLT 2.0.
The web page says Saxon 8.4 is required. Is that just for the batch
script? Would any XSLT 2.0 processor work as well if you ran the
sheets directly?
The batch script uses Saxon 8, but any XSLT 2.0 processor should work
if you run the transformation directly (or write your own batch
script, of course).
