Hi Mike,
I came up with this syntax as I wasn't aware of the brace usage in
<xsl:value-of select="(b/c[(_at_)type='pdf'])[1]" /> which is probably more
concise. But nesting of '[' is allowed and I have seen David C use it
earlier. As for how it works, it selects the first b child having a c child
with an attribute type='pdf' and then selects the text of the c child which
is what the OP wanted.
cheers,
prakash

Can you explain how b[c[(_at_)type='pdf']]work? I'm not familiar with that.
Is it v2.0 syntax?
-Mike
