Re: What do you call a stylesheet that doesn't require an input XML?

I guess we don't need a special name -- as there's no name for a
C/C++/C# console application that doesn't need to process command-line
arguments.

How about these?

Lazy (won't do nothin' unless someone gives me some XML)
Ambitious (gonna go get my own XML!)
Snobby (too good to associate with other files)

Ha! Fantastic.. "Snobby" gets my vote.

"Self-starting"?

"Initiating"?

Actually we've always had these; it's only that in the past we've had
to provide a nominal source such as the stylesheet itself.

For example, the stylesheet at
http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list/processor-version.xsl

Or (ones I've written) a Fibonacci-series stylesheet, or a
Sierpinsky-triangle-generating stylesheet (makes SVG)....
