The serializer isn't supposed, when you say indent="yes", to add whitespace
anywhere except in places where it doesn't matter. It looks to me as if your
particular serializer is getting this wrong.
But if you use a non-html element such as <scp> in html output aren't
all bets off as to what the serialiser will do about indenting?
