Well it may not count as "online" but there's the Mulberry XSLT 1.0 Quick Reference Guide, at

http://mulberrytech.com/quickref/XSLT_1quickref-v2.pdf

which is a page (US Legal, two sides) you can download, print, and post on the wall or carry in a pocket for studying on the bus. It lists all the functions available in (unextended) XSLT 1.0 processors, including those defined in XPath 1.0 as well as XSLT 1.0. It also lists all the elements in XSLT 1.0, the XPath operators and so forth.

It won't tell you the semantics of the functions (beyond what kind of arguments they take), but once you know which functions to consider, your handy search engine can help with the rest.

The Quickref was originally designed and created by Tony Graham (since then the author of the xmlroff XSL formatter), and only tweaked minimally since he did that pioneering work back in 1998 or 1999.

We plan to have a 2.0 Quickref, but in the meantime, Saxon's documentation is also excellent.

Cheers,
Wendell
