Since position() returns even numbers 
No. position() counts nodes selected in teh sequence 1,2,3,4...
If you are only seeing even numbers then you are only processing every
other node in the selected sequence. (Probably because the even nodes
are elements, and the odd ones are text)


What souled I do to find out the correct number of node I'm currently
on.
You haven't said what number it is that you want (there are lost of ways
of enumerating the nodes of a tree).

perhaps <xsl:number lavel="any"/> does what you want.
