That would be true in a naive implementation...
ah well I'm a very naive person:-)
In other comments in the thread I did try to indicate that an actual
implemenattion may do whatever it does, which might not accord with a
literal (or one might say naive) reading, of the spec, so long as the
observable behaviour is the same.
