I have been able to reproduce the behaviour you reported and have
consequently entered it as a bug into our issues tracking database
under the tracking
number and title:
"18888 - Importing remote schema results in 'well-formedness
violation' error message and failure of operation"
It will appear in the release notes here:
http://www.altova.com/Fixed_Defects.html
..when it is addressed.
