if you can't use the infix form if some of the elements might not be
there, but you can use sum()

    <xsl:variable name="clientContacted"
    select="sum(NewDataSet/Table1/count)"/.

or if you need to filter on specific values


    <xsl:variable name="clientContacted"
    select="sum(NewDataSet/Table1[callResultCode=280 or
    callResultCode=25 or ....]/count)"/.
