RE: [xsl] starts-with on more than one item

2008-06-03 06:11:36

Ahem ....

One might equally say :
Shame on you! It's not called the "Harvard comma" for nothing...

The Wikipedia article is entitled Serial Comma and states it's also
known as Oxford Comma or Harvard Comma.
The name used is perhaps being determined by which side of the Atlantic
the speaker is not on.....
(or associated prejudices)

Unhelpfully (and markedly off-topic),
Richard.

Putting a , before the and in a list is anyway a
transatlantic peversion, so in English as (usually) practiced
in England

Shame on you! It's not called the "Oxford comma" for nothing...

I like the quote from Lynne Truss (quoted in Wikipedia):
There are people
who embrace the Oxford comma, and people who don't, and I'll
just say this,
never get between these people when drink has been taken.
