you get exactly the same message with and without the {}? That would be 
surprising

But thats the case :(

do you have more than one sql:insert in your stylesheet?

I do but thats the one that is processed...

No the error msg did not change :/

What do you mean by all instances ?!
do you have more than one sql:insert in your stylesheet?
