I started using the <xsl:element> command
some time ago because i thought it was a more proper way of
writing
This belief seems to be surprisingly common - I've no idea where it comes
from, other than some kind of superstition that verbose constructs are more
respectable than abbreviations. But the two constructs are not equivalent
(their namespace behaviour is different), and using LREs should be the
default unless there's a good reason to do otherwise.
