Thank you very much for your help and response. For some reason the 
text/character within <superscript> doesn't display.

Current output: Access Ultrasensitive ESTRADIOL QC 

Required Output: Access® Ultrasensitive ESTRADIOL QC

ambiguous.  I meant to use
the apply-templates instruction with the same select
pattern:
