you should only need one seed, surely and from that generate  a list of
random numbers as long as you need. So current-time() should be
sufficient.

If you generate a new seed every time and from each of those seeds
generate a single number you are unlikely to get the same randomness
properties you get by running a random number generator to generate a
sequence from a single seed.
