Re: [xsl] Does XSLT contain an easy means of determining if a string contains a diacritic?

Hi Ken
Your idea did not quite work, but the "normalize-unicode () at least gave me something to work on. I Googled and found a simple method Michael posted some time ago. In case you ever need a reference, my final template is below.
As always, you came through (as did Michael, indirectly).
Mark

<xsl:template match="Heading">
<xsl:variable name="instring" select="."/>
<!-- Michael's post Note NKFD -->
<xsl:variable name="altered-string" select="replace(normalize-unicode($instring, 'NFKD'), '[̀-ͯ]', '')"/>
<xsl:choose>
<xsl:when test="not($instring eq $altered-string)">
xsl:value-of select="$altered-string"/>
<xsl:otherwise>
<xsl:value-of select="."/>
</xsl:otherwise>
</xsl:choose>
</xsl:template>
