I just want to thank everyone for help with the empty strong node problem. I
should have mentioned that I am using XSLT 2.0.
<xsl:if test="node()"> worked. I didn't know before how to do a xsl:if
statement with the current node.
Output had already been set to XHTML 1.0. This should have prevented the
problem but didn't.
