At the TEI Conference this year[1] Brian Pitlik-Zillig[2] gave a talk
on (what I think is) exactly what you are looking for: logging XSLT
transformations[3].

yes, but we put the translated XML in a log in production env, and
to examine the log avoid the fime of re-doing the same ...
