Assuming 'q' means '1' and 'w' means '2' ..... (mis-hitting qwerty keyboard).
This makes the XSLT 2 version unsuitable for me as I am encountering this issue
while doing Epub generation.
Epub mandates a certain date format (yyyy-mm-mm) in certain elements in the
output. As my incoming dates are in different formats I am here

in XSLT 1 ?
The XSLT w stylesheets do not support all the formats the XSLT q package does
so this may not be an option. In particular XSLT 2 does not support the
generation of ePub books

It's DocBook, which is XSLT 1, so I don't (think I) have a choice.
