Yes, but wanted to mention it anyway. I only came across this function
a few weeks ago looking for ways to share functions thinking I should
pick one or the other.

And this definitely isn't portable across vendors.

Compare this to a pure XPath solution that is fully portable across
all vendors and hosting environments...
