[xsl] [ANN] Hands-on Classes: XML, XSLT/XPath, Schematron

2019-02-14 15:14:38
Mulberry is pleased to announce our 2019 hands-on classes:

XML Basics for Text Processing
Intended for people who have an interest in textual documents,
such as writers, editors, and programmers with HTML or typesetting
experience, this class focuses on use of XML with text.

      April 3 - 5, 2019
      September 9 - 11, 2019

Introduction to Schematron
Schematron is a tool for finding things out about XML documents.
With Schematron, users can identify all documents or portions of
documents that have, or don't have, a particular structure, value,
type, or pattern. Participants need basic XML knowledge, but no
   programming experience is needed.

Fundamentals of XSLT and XPath
XSLT is a declarative language for transforming XML. XPath is its
companion specification for identifying parts of XML documents.
XSLT and XPath are widely used to convert XML data into other
data formats, including display formats such as HTML, XML
according to arbitrary schemas and DTDs, and text-based formats
   such as database load files.

This class is for people who have at least basic understanding
of XML; classroom exposure to XML will do, real world experience
with XML documents is good preparation for this class.

       October 23 - 25, 2019

Advanced Document Processing with XSLT 2.0
XSLT 2.0 extends XSLT from a basic transformation technology
suitable for straightforward document conversions into a
general-purpose document and data processing language. In this
class we build on paticiants' knowledge of XSLT/XPath 1.0,
focusing on types of transformations common when working with
textual documents, many of which are easier using XSLT/XPath 2.0.
