Yes. The benefit is that my MUA can then know it is replying to a 
particular list, and behave in an appropriate manner, as I have 
configured it. For instance (a trivial example), I might want to use a 
different .sig file for lists. Also, it can file the list message 
correctly.

If someone replies to a message you sent to a list and (for whatever reason)
the list blocks that reply, do you still want your personal copy of the
message to be blocked also?

I do not want you even to SEND a personal copy. I'll take a chance on 
the list. You may think I'm misguided, but that's what I want. And I 
know I'm not alone.

I wasn't going to step into this discussion again. Bad mistake. I think 
I'll try very hard to shut up from now on.
