I agree strongly with this latter point.
I've been trying to come up with a measure of success. So far, I
imagine measuring additional effective sessions[1] and measuring
attendance at meetings on Friday afternoons compared to other
afternoons. One could also measure success as a different ratio: the
number of complaints about Friday afternoon slots compared to the
number of complaints that there isn't enough time for the needed
meetings.

[1] This one opens a can of worms, since we'd have to operationalise
"effective session".
