lock busy! Is another session active?

2001-02-25 18:14:33
All,

I could use a little help here. I'm using fetchmail to get my mail through
APOP, and getting the following error message:

fetchmail: flock: '/usr/spool/poptemp/.srhea.pop': No locks available (46)
fetchmail: lock busy! Is another session active?
  fetchmail: Lock-busy error on srhea(_at_)realname(_dot_)server(_dot_)com
fetchmail: lock busy on server error while fetching from my.pop.server.com
  fetchmail: Query status=9 (LOCKBUSY)

In more detail:

fetchmail: 5.5.0 querying my.pop.server.com (protocol APOP) at Sun, 25 Feb
2001 17:07:45 -0800 (PST)
  fetchmail: POP3< +OK QPOP (version 2.52) at realname.server.com
  starting. <13282(_dot_)983149642(_at_)realname(_dot_)server(_dot_)com>
  fetchmail: POP3> APOP srhea df57feee08babbf9751197178c239c70
fetchmail: POP3< -ERR flock: '/usr/spool/poptemp/.srhea.pop': No locks
available (46)
fetchmail: flock: '/usr/spool/poptemp/.srhea.pop': No locks available (46)

  fetchmail: Lock-busy error on srhea(_at_)realname(_dot_)server(_dot_)com
  fetchmail: POP3> QUIT
fetchmail: lock busy on server error while fetching from my.pop.server.com
  fetchmail: Query status=9 (LOCKBUSY)
  fetchmail: Deleting fetchids file.
  fetchmail: normal termination, status 9
  fetchmail: Deleting fetchids file.

The output of -V:

Any hints on how to debug this would be greatly appreciated. There is no
other version of fetchmail running. It seems like all I need is a way to
clear the lock, but I'm not sure.

Please send responses to srhea(_at_)gibbon(_dot_)cs(_dot_)berkeley(_dot_)edu,
since because of
this error I can only send mail from my srhea(_at_)cs(_dot_)berkeley(_dot_)edu
account.

Thanks again,
Sean
