The 5.8.13 release of fetchmail is now available at the usual locations,
including <URL:http://www.tuxedo.org/~esr/fetchmail>.

Here are the release notes:

fetchmail-5.8.13 (Tue Jul 10 17:00:50 EDT 2001), 21057 lines:

* Correction for backslash-handling patch in rfc822.c.
* Fix for Debian bug Bug#1038222: fetchmail conf fails to write file
  after configuration; move .fetchmailrc to .fetchmailrc.bak before
  overwriting.
* Discard Return-Path headers consisting of a single @.
* Make fetchmailconf dump plugin and plugout options properly.
* Rob Brauns changes for building fetchmail outside its source directory

There are 357 people on fetchmail-friends and 607 on fetchmail-announce.

This was going to be 5.9.0, but the 5.8.12 upload didn't go right.
This is a stable-release candidate; please pound on it heavily.

By popular demand, diffs from the previous release have been omitted.

The conclusion is thus inescapable that the history, concept, and
wording of the second amendment to the Constitution of the United
States, as well as its interpretation by every major commentator and
court in the first half-century after its ratification, indicates
that what is protected is an individual right of a private citizen
to own and carry firearms in a peaceful manner.

            The Judiciary, United States Senate, 97th Congress, second session
            (February, 1982), SuDoc# Y4.J 89/2: Ar 5/5
