Re: [fetchmail]selective flush

2001-09-09 09:00:59
Andy,

PLEASE don't urge a fix for this "bug." Thanks to it I can use
fetchmail. I still get 20-50 Mb of SirCam worms in a 24-hour period
(no idea why, for I suspect most others are not so favored), and the
"bug" enables me to clean than out from the e-mail server efficiently.

Oddly, it seems that I was actually wrong! I was desperate (still got
about 8 big worms last night), and since I was tracking mail on the
server pretty well with poppy, could afford to experiment and tried it
out. For some reason, the combo of limit and flush works just
fine. For example, used fetchmail to download about a hundred messages
this morning, and each one over my 150 Kb limit was flushed off my
ISP's POP mail server. Go figure!

I noticed this same behaviour and I consider this to be a bug.
"--limit" should NOT mark the messages as read!
Or can anyone think of a reason why it should?

If so, how do I avoid the marking?
