Hi,
I suggest taking a look at the fetchmail faq. I'm not completely clear with
meaning of all the acronyms used (such as MTA, etc), but I know that
fetchmail just fetches your mail. It doesn't deliver it. That's the job of
your MTA (I believe that's the acronym), like sendmail.
If you did some sort of default install, sendmail or something like it is
probably already configured. I believe your mail client sends the mail to
sendmail, but I may be mistaken here.
The fetchmail FAQ on the homepage is pretty specific though.
