Duh, reading the mailinglist archive I see that this have been
discussed before:
"If you set the authentication method (say "auth password"), you will
never get the message."
How do I set this? My fetchmailrc looks:

set bouncemail
set no spambounce
set properties ""
poll something with proto POP3
