I think this bug was fixed in the 5.8.x or 5.9.x versions, retry with
6.2.0 please and report back.
The same problem exists in 6.2.0. That is, the mail is marked read on
the IMAP server even in the case of a local delivery error, and since
fetchall is not turned on (since I'd like to leave mail there until
the
next backup) it is missed on the next download cycle.
Then there's a driver bug. fetchmail must not mark a mail it could not
deliver "read". However, I only tested against POP3, so I may have
missed that one at that time.
Is posting here enough for an "official" bug report? Is anyone
interesting in looking at it? Do I need to familiarize myself with the
code?
I'll experiment with pop to see if it has the same problem (but need to
first setup a test account to do that with - part of the reason for
currently using keep is because I am working with my "live" mail spool
and am finding the pitfalls before I move to fetchmail in production
mode...)
Thanks,
Jim
