I tested diferrents polls in fetchmailrc, and dont occur this problem.....
Fetchmail dont crash with pop3 servers such as Jazztel, Terra... but
crashed (using the same config) with anothers pop3 servers.... very very
strange....
I upgrade my fetchmail to 6.2.2 version.
Im using Debian 2.2.4 kernel with qmail.
Not sure... but maybe you should check whether there's a maximum size for
mails configured on the (your) MTA... and maybe the message exceeds it...?
