[fetchmail] disable show dots but enable complete logging?

Hi

I'm running fetchmail via cron :

0-59/5 * * * * /usr/bin/fetchmail -a -s --syslog

Is there a way to disable the dots but at the same time log the data in 
/var/log/maillog.

With the above option "-s" it disables the dots in the cron mail, but it 
removes the nice log information that used to get logged in the 
/var/log/maillog file.

However, the FATAL errors like DNS failure or AUTH errors are logged.

Any ideas?
