[fetchmail] will not fetch mail with incorrect header

2003-10-30 17:16:25
Hi All,

I sent previous versions of this mail to the list when I wasn't
subscribed, so they never forwarded. Can the admin please delete my
previous mails from the pending queue instead of forwarding them to the
list?

----

I couldn't find this one in the FAQ or the config options.

Four times I have received mail in two of my upstream mailboxes that
has plugged the queues. Fetchmail responds to this email by sending part
of it on to the MDA but leaving it on the server, then the next time it
polls, it repeats the process. This results in people getting hundreds
of copies of the headers for the badly formed email, but nothing that
was received after it. The only way to fix the problem is to use some
other mail program (mozilla 1.4 in this case) to read the mail directly
from the upstream server. This clears the blockage and fetchmail works
properly afterwards.

The third time this happened is decribed below. The fourth time it
happened I noticed that it only breaks on mail sent from two users, one
of whom has a read message return receipt request turned on. The other
user's email is decribed below.

My syslog is showing this for each fetchmail poll:
