I see quite a few of these errors whenever I'm doing a spam report run to
NANAS and sometimes during the day when I'm not. Is this in any way related
to my fetchmail setup or is this a problem at Earthlink? EL seems to think
its my setup. If any more information is needed please let me know.

The error suggests a problem with DNS resolution, so while it's nearly
certainly not fetchmail, it may also not be earthlink at fault. Take
a look at your DNS resolver setup.
Of course, you didn't say *anything* about your fetchmail setup, I
can't say for certain.
